EFFECTS OF COVID-19

It’s now been 2 months and change since our community shut down due to COVID-19 and we’re beginning to slowly reopen.  My last blog post was in the midst of the scarier times–we didn’t know what was going on with the nation’s health nor how our community would be affected locally.  We were lucky.  Our hospitals were able to handle the amount of patients they received, and the Vail Valley did an excellent job of social distancing, staying at home, and we flattened our curve.  We lost members of our community to this coronavirus, but our hearts remained strong and we are weathering the storm.

Restaurants are beginning to reopen, activities like rafting and horseback riding are opening for the summer while following their new precautions, and being in the great outdoors has been wonderful for our psyche.  EatDrinkSmileVail has been moving forward full steam, and I’m happy to know the website should be fully finished by the end of the week!  Hooray!

The last 2 months have been hard work on my little project–I’ve done a lot of work and growing on the back end (boring, I know), lots of writing, lots of updates on my social media (so make sure you’re following me!), created a mailing list which will have some great updates and secret tips, and even took that FAU Hospitality course.  It’s been busy, that’s for sure.  I have a super fun announcement coming soon, too, so keep an eye out.

Each week brings something new, and I was hesitant to write this due to the political temperature at the moment.  I think now more than ever it is most important to be kind, be helpful, take care of your mental health and the mental health of your loved ones, and be a force for good in the world.

All the love in the world,

Steph
